MYTHOLOGY

Moche and Chimu culture were the most important in the north of Peru, and they ruled before the inca's conquered. These cultures had a rich mythology that last until our days.

1.- Ai Apaec

Known as the "Punisher God". Ai Apaec was the chief deity of the Mochica culture, the most deadly and the most worshiped god. He was also known as the "beheader".

This God demanded a lot of human sacrifices, and he used to decapitate both his enemies and his own people, usually young prist from the temple of the sun and moon.

Ai Apaec was portrayed in many different ways. In metallurgy he took the form of a spider with 8 paws and an humanoid face with jaguar fangs.

In Ceramics he takes the shape of a warrior, with heads on each hand and snakes pouring out of his necks.  


2.- Naylamp

The "Funding God". According to the leyend Naylamp God came from the sea in botes and taught civilization how to work the land and the sea.

When Naylamp landed in the north, the first thing he did was building up a temple for an idol he brought.

Many of the representations shows him as a God related to the sea, sailing in a boat in form of a giant snake with a humanoid float next to him.

3.- The owl god

Also known as the God of the Death or Fur, he was the Lord of the night and the arms.

The Nuevo Sol (S/.) is the currency of Peru (PEN = International code for the Peruvian currency). It is subdivided into 10 Centimos. There are banknotes for S/. 10, S/. 20, S/. 50, S/.100 and S/. 200.

Coins have been issued for 1 Centimo, 5 Centimos, 10 centimos, 50 Centimos, S/,1, S/.2, and S/, 5.  

How to indentify a counterfeit banknote?

HOLD YOUR NOTE AGAINST THE LIGHT

1. Perfect concidence

Identify the perfect concidence in the number. Most of the counterfeit banknotes don`t have that concidence.

2. Watermark

The images of the watermark are clear and well defined. Most of counterfeit banknotes are blurred.

REVERSE YOUR BANKNOTE

3. SECURITY THREAD

Notice that when you reverse your note the thread moves. It does not happend in counterfeit banknotes.

4. HIDDEN NUMBER

Find the hidden number when you reverse your note tangentially to your eyes. Most of the counterfeit banknotes the hidden number doesn`t appear.
